PROJECT TYPE: Measurement Probes
AKI was working with a customer in China for a long time doing repair for another vendor’s autocollimator. The customer began having issues getting consistent return light from poorly reflective metal. This inconsistent response caused the gage repeatability and reproducibility to be unacceptable. Our team took samples of the metal and optimized the laser and receiving optics to achieve optimum spot consistency and GRR. This project was a great success and the customer was able to see greatly improved outgoing quality. Those measurement probes are still in production over ten years later.
